About the Author

Franklin Ard is a graduate of the Stonecoast MFA program at the University of Southern Maine and the Clarion West Writers Workshop. He writes science fiction, fantasy, and mysteries, as well as strange slipstream fiction that defies genre. His creative work has appeared in a number of venues, both online and print.

Former Editor-in-Chief of Oracle Fine Arts Review and Managing Editor of Stonecoast Review, he is the Lead Editor at Headless Hydra Press, a publisher of tabletop role-playing game supplements. He previously served as the senior administrator at the University of South Alabama's Center for Academic Excellence and currently serves as Director of Student Academic Support Services at Kennesaw State University.

Franklin holds a master of arts degree in English, a master of fine arts in creative writing, and a doctorate in educational leadership. He's taught college-level writing for over a decade in a variety of contexts, from beginner composition to creative writing to doctoral dissertation writing. Additionally, he's published scholarly work on writing, teaching, and educational leadership.

He and his wife and son live in northwest Georgia, where they enjoy traversing the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
